Hollywood has succumbed to Sandra Hüller: The German actress is winning one award after another with her latest films. She also has her hopes up at the Golden Globes.
Things are going well for Sandra Hüller in Hollywood: the German actress has won another critics' award in the USA. The US National Society of Film Critics (NSFC), to which around 60 renowned film critics belong, announced the winners on Twitter on Saturday.
Hüller, 45, was voted best actress for her roles in "Anatomy of a Case" and "The Zone of Interest". In "Anatomy of a Case", Hüller plays a writer who is suspected of murdering her husband. In "The Zone of Interest", she plays the wife of concentration camp commander Rudolf Höß (Christian Friedel), who lives with his family in a luxurious house right next to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
In terms of the number of jury votes, Hüller was ahead of Emma Stone ("Poor Things") and Lily Gladstone ("Killers of the Flower Moon"). In December, another film critics' association, the LAFCA, had already honored Hüller. The German actress is also nominated at the Golden Globes, which will be awarded on Monday night in Beverly Hills.
