Not thankful enough? Biden is beside himself in a phone call with Zelenskyj

The US has provided Ukraine with at least $7 billion worth of arms since the war began, including more recently Himar missile systems, new armored vehicles and howitzers. But not everything always runs smoothly in communication between Washington and Kyiv, according to a report by the US broadcaster NBC News on Monday.
As the US broadcaster reports, citing four government officials, Biden is said to have lost his temper during a telephone conversation in June because Zelenskyj had apparently pushed for new military aid too quickly. "No sooner had Biden told Zelenskyy that he had just released another $1 billion in US military aid to Ukraine than Zelenskyy started listing all the extra aid he needed and wasn't getting," the US broadcaster writes. Biden then lost his temper. "The American people are quite generous, and their government and US military are working hard to help Ukraine," Biden reportedly said in a raised voice. Selenskyj could "show a little more gratitude".
Biden and Zelenskyy's relationship has only improved since the June call, the broadcaster continued, citing its sources, after Zelenskyy issued a public statement praising the US for his generous support. But what happened on the call may reflect Biden's earlier view that both congressional and public support for sending billions of dollars to Ukraine could be waning. That moment may have come as Biden prepares to ask Congress for the green light for more financial aid to Ukraine.
