Stefan Raab (58) is taking a new step in his TV comeback - but he has to put up with a lot right from the start.
For the show legend, almost half a year after his announcement that he would be returning to the television public permanently, things are moving on with two major projects. Firstly, he is the face of the "Eurovision Song Contest" preliminary round, which will now be shown on RTL.
Stefan Raab on the road for RTL show in Cologne - this reaction is something else
In addition, his show "Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab" will be shown for the first time on linear TV at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday (February 12, 2025) after several months on the streaming service RTL+.
The Cologne native mingled with the crowd for the first edition of the show in his hometown - at an FDP election campaign event on Rudolfplatz.
Although he also spoke to top candidate Christian Lindner (46), the report, which lasted several minutes, focused on the people who gathered in the middle of Cologne to protest against the FDP and the event.
Some of them got involved in the usual pranks. A young man had Raab blow his whistle, and a woman asked the 58-year-old who he was.
However, there was then a scene that is rarely seen in Raab shows: Raab gets a verbal beating! During his rounds of protesters, one man was not at all happy with the entertainer - the way he yelled at Raab and looked at him looks like pure hatred.
Without being asked, the man leans towards Raab's microphone and yells: "If only you had disappeared into obscurity, ten years probably wasn't enough."
Before Raab can answer, he adds "Yeah, you can't say anything, can you?" - and then turns away briefly. Raab's short reaction: "I think you're nice though."
During an outdoor shoot at Rudolfplatz, Stefan Raab was verbally attacked.
In the already heated atmosphere at the FDP event at Rudolfplatz, the protesters shout "Shut up." What was probably originally intended for Christian Lindner, then, at least in the case of the man of the mob attack, is also aimed at Raab. Because when the "Shut up" chants start, he turns again towards the show legend - a clear message to Raab.
A few meters further on, however, Raab meets people who are much more well-disposed towards him. A man calls "Chancellor, Stefan Raab" into the microphone - and the RTL face is smiling again. Nevertheless, it turns out that outdoor filming is not always a pleasure for TV teams, not even with Stefan Raab.
