The Romanian national football team was very disappointed after their exit from the European Championship, but they did not want to say goodbye to Germany as bad guests. The team is leaving Germany "with the feeling that we gave everything for Romania" and is "grateful for everything we experienced here. It was an honour to be part of the big family of European football." Romania advanced to the round of 16 as winners of Group D after a convincing 3-0 win against Ukraine, a 0-2 defeat against Belgium and a 1-1 draw against Slovakia, but the underdog then failed to overcome the Dutch hurdle. And so after two exciting weeks in Germany, all that was left to say was: "Thank you for making us feel at home!"
