Is Putin about to act desperately? "He wants a deal"

Things are not looking good for Vladimir Putin's empire. For a while, Russia was able to keep itself afloat with a war economy, but that has also declined sharply. An expert is now assessing whether there could soon be a ceasefire with Ukraine.
Putin's country in economic crisis
How long can Putin hold out in the Ukraine war?
How long will Putin's Ukraine war last? At least the economy in Russia is already under severe strain. Food prices are rising massively, and the ruble has plummeted in the last five months. At first, the war economy provided a decent upturn, but the arms industry is no longer able to get the country out of the crisis.
Is a ceasefire coming? In a conversation with the radio station "The New Voice of Ukraine", political scientist Igor Reuterovich suspects that a ceasefire will initially be purely military in nature. This is intended to avoid political complications. An agreement would have the advantage that neither Russia nor Ukraine would have to make political concessions to the other side. A similar agreement already exists between North and South Korea.
However, Putin has rejected a preliminary proposal for a ceasefire. This initially came from the team of the designated US President Donald Trump. According to the plan, Ukraine's accession to NATO would be postponed for 20 years, as the "Wall Street Journal" reported. In return, Ukraine would continue to receive Western weapons. European peacekeepers would ensure that the ceasefire in Ukraine is observed.
