Café in Berlin: Guest enters the toilet - then can hardly believe his ears

BERLIN LIVE Café in Berlin: Guest enters the toilet - then can hardly believe his ears Jana Wengert • 7 hours • 2 minutes reading time There are quite a few cafes in Berlin. In order to find the right place for them, some customers attach great importance to the design, the cake selection or the barista skills of the employees. Pandoras in Kreuzberg, on the other hand, can serve more than just its unusual space. A moment of surprise awaits visitors in the toilet too - and some people can hardly believe their ears. Café in Berlin causes surprise in the toilet Because anyone who enters the cubicle may briefly ask themselves: Did I take a wrong turn and am now standing on the subway platform? Judging by the noises, that could definitely be the case. While in other cafés classical music might be played over the speakers in the toilet rooms, in Pandoras you hear the announcements of the BVG - more precisely the bus and train stops in the capital that are located around the location. Peter Terfloth runs Pandoras in the Holy Cross Church in Berlin-Kreuzberg together with his husband Falk. "We discovered this in a bar toilet in Cologne," owner Peter Terfloth revealed when asked by BERLIN LIVE. An ex-Berliner had already put the idea into practice there. The Terfloth couple liked it so much that they soon introduced it in their own café not far from Hallesches Tor. Berlin café owner discovered idea in Cologne bar "It always creates a nice wow effect in the toilet," grinned Peter Terfloth. It is well known that you don't want to hear the noises of your neighbor when you go to the toilet - and the same applies vice versa. "Many people then leave the water running out of desperation," said the restaurateur from experience. To counteract this and save water at the same time, the announcement campaign came at a more than convenient time. It also certainly provides new material for conversation as soon as you return to your table in the cute church café. An absolute win-win situation for both the customers and the operators. And who knows, perhaps the recordings will soon be heard in several other restaurants in the capital.
