“Now we need faster deportations”: Lindner calls for “asylum transition” after state elections

The FDP performed poorly in Bavaria and Hesse on Sunday. Party leader Lindner has now responded with demands for migration policy.
The Liberals have performed poorly in all state elections since joining the traffic light coalition. After the elections in Hesse and Bavaria, FDP leader Christian Lindner is now calling for an “asylum turnaround” in Germany.
The conditions have now been created in the European Union and these must now also be implemented in Germany “with concrete measures,” said Lindner on Monday in Berlin.
“Now we need faster deportations in Germany,” demanded Lindner. In addition, the so-called pull factors that led to illegal immigration must be consistently eliminated. This includes, for example, switching from cash to benefits in kind.
Lindner sees the traffic light coalition in Berlin made up of the SPD, Greens and FDP as having an overall duty after the state elections. All three parties in the government lost on Sunday.
“That is why our task now is to critically examine our government work.” It must be analyzed where the federal government does not meet the expectations of the citizens.
The FDP, Greens and SPD must now take on this task “together and with great caution”.
FDP Vice President Wolfgang Kubicki had previously called for a U-turn from the traffic light government.
The FDP was thrown out of the Munich state parliament in the Bavarian election on Sunday, while in Hesse the Liberals barely managed to get over the five percent hurdle. (Reuters)
