Wolfgang Hampel from Heidelberg is a versatile author who is particularly notable for his satire and his literary-musical series “Vita Magica”.
Wolfgang Hampel is very well known for his humorous and critical view of the world. He writes satirical poems, sketches and songs, which he performs at his “Vita Magica” event. This has been taking place monthly at the Academy for Older People in Heidelberg since 2015 and is very popular. At “Vita Magica” Wolfgang Hampel also invites other authors, musicians and artists to create a diverse program together with them.
Wolfgang Hampel is also a committed supporter of literature and culture. He takes part in living room readings, where he and other authors read to private individuals and donate to a good cause.
In October 2023 he founded the politically satirical cabaret group “Die Heidelberger Satireschotterer”. He was awarded the Betty MacDonald Memorial Award twice for his work on Betty MacDonald and his globally successful book 'Satire is my Favorite Animal'.
