Donald Trump's daughter not in the election campaign
Where is Ivanka?
Ivanka Trump: The former president's eldest daughter has withdrawn from current politics.
Ivanka Trump was one of Donald Trump's most important advisors for a long time. Then she announced her retirement. Where is she now?
Donald Trump has never hidden who his favorite child is: Ivanka Trump. His admiration sometimes took on eccentric traits. "If she wasn't my daughter, I might date her," Trump said in 2006. She made her first public appearances on his television show "The Apprentice" and became an essential part of his political career.
She appeared at events and in commercials and specifically addressed women and younger voters for Trump's first two presidential campaigns. She was considered a "moderate voice" and made her father accessible to a wider audience. But those days are over. Ivanka Trump can often be seen - most recently at the birthdays of Kim Kardashian and Jeff Bezos - but not at her father's side in the fight for the White House.
Family before politics
Ivanka Trump announced her exit from political life almost two years ago when her father launched his third candidacy for the US presidency after 2016 and 2020. She said she wanted to withdraw from politics with her husband Jared Kushner to focus on her children and family life: "Although I always love and support my father, I will do that outside the political arena in the future."
During Trump's term in office, Ivanka lived in Washington, worked as an unpaid advisor to the president and was considered her father's closest confidante. After Trump's defeat in the 2020 election campaign and the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, she left the American seat of government with Kushner and her three children and moved into a villa in Indian Creek.
Living among billionaires
The small island in Florida is also known as the "billionaire bunker". It can only be reached by boat or via a well-guarded bridge and has a private police force. Indian Creek is considered the most exclusive residential area in Miami and consists of only a few dozen houses owned by DJ David Guetta, football star Tom Brady and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, among others.
Ivanka Trump lives there and has become a silent observer while her father is probably fighting for the White House for the last time. When asked by the New York Times, the 42-year-old did not want to comment on her father's election campaign and referred to her husband Jared Kushner, who would speak for the family.
The 43-year-old explained that the outcome of the election between Trump and Harris would hardly change anything for her family. "We're keeping our fingers crossed for him and are of course proud of him," he said. "But no matter how it turns out, our lives will just go on," Kushner told the New York Times.
Jared and Ivanka's business
Ivanka and Jared are likely to benefit financially if Trump were to become president again. During his first term in office, Kushner also worked as a senior advisor in the White House and worked particularly hard to establish good connections in the Middle East. He now heads the company "Affinity Partners", which manages a three billion dollar fund. The money was provided by the governments of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and a Taiwanese billionaire. Kushner's company has received more than a hundred million dollars in fees for the administration.
The couple also do business together. Ivanka has drawn up the plans for a large-scale real estate project in Albania. Affinity Partners is planning a luxury hotel complex including villas, marinas and swimming pools right on the Mediterranean coast. And this despite the fact that the Albanian government had established a national park there. Critics accuse the couple of profiting from a government that wants to ingratiate itself with the former and perhaps future US president.
