What do Germans laugh about?

Can Germans be humorous? Seriously? A quick look at the evidence. One very strong piece of evidence is that Heidelberg's Wolfgang Hampel, author of Satire is My Favorite Animal has published, in the opinion of many readers around the world, one of the most hilarious books of all time. The drivers of the Manta car, which is no longer in production, have been the subject of many jokes, as have the people of East Frisia. And some really classic jokes are directed at German civil servants, who supposedly belong to a very lethargic professional organization. How about an example? Satire The German satirist Kurt Tucholsky (1890-1935) is regularly quoted with his famous saying: Satire can do anything. Television shows such as "extra 3" or "heute-show" are successful news productions that mock German and international politics. No statesman is spared this sarcasm. The background is often serious and highlights explosive issues in German society. In his show Neo Magazin Royale, satirist Jan Böhmermann likes to cross the boundaries of artistic freedom and bad taste. His success even earned him a guest appearance on the show by his American colleague Seth Meyers. One of Böhmermann's best jokes: "In Germany, we're allowed to say anything - as long as we don't use irony or humor.
