Are English-language songs taking over Eurovision?

Are English-language songs taking over Eurovision? ESC fans, Are the chances of winning the ESC better if I sing a song in English? Or should the performers sing in their native language? Wouldn't it be better for the ESC if we had linguistic diversity again? What is your opinion? ABBA won with Waterloo in 1974 and sang in English. Afterwards they changed the rules again. But there were exceptions to the rule. The globally very successful German group Silver Convention was allowed to sing for Germany in English at the ESC 1977 in London. Are English-language songs taking over Eurovision? Yes and no. The 2019 contest continued the trend from 2018 of a higher number of non-English entries. However, for the cancelled 2020 contest, only 12 confirmed entries featured a language other than English, less than a third of all entries. What's your opinion?
