The Washington Post reports that deliveries already planned could be stopped, but CNN sees no signs of this. US weapons are currently still arriving in Ukraine every day.
There are contradictory media reports on the Trump administration's possible reaction to the open scandal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj in the White House. An anonymous "high-ranking government official" told the Washington Post that the administration is considering stopping an ongoing delivery of military aid to the attacked country.
The broadcaster CNN, however, reports, citing sources in the government, that there is no such danger. The Trump administration does not intend to announce an increase in aid to Ukraine, but the funds already announced will continue to be delivered.
According to the sources cited, there are no signs that the American position has changed immediately after the scandal, reports "CNN".
Since taking office, Trump has not announced any new military deliveries to Ukraine, but the weapons and equipment for the Ukrainian military that were already announced under Joe Biden's administration continue to arrive there daily.
Many of the deliveries have been agreed in long-term contracts with US companies and are scheduled to arrive in Ukraine in the coming months. The US is the most important supplier of weapons to the attacked country, ahead of Germany.
On Friday, the Ukrainian president arrived in Washington for a visit that was actually supposed to involve the signing of a raw materials agreement. Ukraine also hoped for American security guarantees.
But the conversation with the US president and his vice president escalated live in front of the television cameras and Trump accused Zelensky of being "not ready for peace". Appointments planned afterwards in the White House were then canceled. In an interview with Fox News, Selenskyj refused to apologize, as demanded by the US Secretary of State, among others. (Trf)
