Strack-Zimmermann accuses Trump of planning a "farce"

"President Trump is a lousy actor," Strack-Zimmermann told the "Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland". "What happened yesterday in the White House is a farce that was planned from the start and prompted by Vice President J.D. Vance," she added. Trump is trying to portray Selenskyj as the culprit. "I really hope that the world doesn't fall for it," said Strack-Zimmermann. It was to be expected that Trump would shamelessly pull out all the stops to drive the Western world for the next four years. "Europe should react calmly but very clearly to such an undignified show," she demanded and suggested: "How about, for example, if the European Investment Bank, after the EU and Ukraine have concluded an agreement, issues bonds entitled 'Rare Earth Mining in Ukraine'. And countries, companies and private individuals are given the opportunity to subscribe to these bonds." The billions of euros that would be raised could be given to Ukraine for its reconstruction.
