A recent survey conducted by the scientific journal "Nature" found that three-quarters of scientists living in the US are considering fleeing abroad due to the disturbing developments. The DOGE has not only eliminated thousands of jobs, but also billions in research grants.
Scientists Want to Leave the US Because of Trump and Musk
The piquant survey was conducted among "Nature" readers. To the first question, "Are you a researcher in the US considering leaving the country due to the disruption to science caused by the Trump administration?" 75 percent of the 1,608 respondents answered "yes."
The survey results also showed that those who have recently begun their scientific careers or studies are particularly inclined to leave the United States. Of the 690 postgraduate researchers who participated in the "Nature" survey, 548 said they were considering leaving the US. Of the 340 doctoral students, 255 said they were considering leaving.
