She had spoken out in favor of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 US election campaign - superstar Taylor Swift.
US President Donald Trump has insulted superstar Taylor Swift. "Has anyone noticed that she's not 'hot' anymore since I said 'I hate Taylor Swift'?" he wrote on the online platform Truth Social. As is often the case, he used capital letters to emphasize his message.
Swift surprisingly came out in favor of the Democrat in last year's US election campaign immediately after the TV debate in which Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris met Trump for the first time. The Instagram post in which she made this public reached a million likes within fifteen minutes. After ten hours, the number had reached about eight million. Compared to other Swift posts, this is a high number.
Swift captioned the post with the words "Childless Cat Lady" and posted a picture of herself holding a cat. This was a reference to Trump's running mate and current US Vice President JD Vance, who once disparagingly referred to Democratic female politicians, including Harris, as "childless cat ladies."
A few days after Swift's post, last September, Republican Trump wrote in capital letters on his Truth Social account: "I hate Taylor Swift!" Swift is enormously popular with her fans – she has more than 280 million followers on Instagram. (dpa)
