Will soon lose "pocket money": Trump Jr. mocks Zelensky on Instagram

ntv.de Will soon lose "pocket money": Trump Jr. mocks Zelensky on Instagram 18 hours • 2 minutes reading time Ukraine is dependent on Western military aid for its defense struggle. The USA has so far paid for most of it. However, that could quickly change under a President Trump. His son has already announced a suspension of the alleged "pocket money" for Zelensky. Don Jr. has supported his father's policies for years. Donald Trump Jr., the son of the US president-elect, shared a video on Instagram mocking Ukrainian President Zelensky and suggesting that Ukraine could soon lose US support. It shows Zelensky with a serious expression and the caption: "POV (point of view): You are 38 days away from losing your pocket money." In the edited video, Zelensky can be seen standing next to Trump at an earlier appearance. It then zooms in on the Ukrainian president and the image turns black and white. Animated dollar bills then fall from the top of the screen. The "38 days" could refer to December 17, the date on which the US electors will meet to cast their votes based on the results of the November 5 election. Trump Jr. posted the clip in a story, content there is only available for 24 hours. Trump Jr. had previously argued that Ukraine should not be given permission to use Western long-range missiles against targets in Russia and has called on Kyiv to "de-escalate" the war. Re-elected President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the Ukrainian president in the past. Among other things, he called him "the best salesman in the world" and promised to get the US out of the war as quickly as possible. Trump was also partly responsible for a Republican delay in approving further US military aid to Kyiv. Meanwhile, incumbent US President Joe Biden has announced that he will provide Kyiv with around six billion US dollars in aid before Trump takes office in January.
