Happy 80th Birthday, Kenny Rogers! Celebrate With His Biggest Hits Through the Years
Happy birthday, Kenny Rogers!
The country music artist turns 80 on August 21. A native of Houston,
Texas, the Country Music Hall of Famer successfully crossed genres,
blending R&B, jazz, pop and country. He released some of the best
romance songs of the ’80s, made even more sultry by his signature husky
voice. Rogers earned three Grammy Awards, five CMA Awards (plus the
Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013) and eight Academy of
Country Music Awards during his career that spans over six decades.
In 2016, Rogers embarked on a final world tour as a goodbye to fans, wishing to spend more time with his wife of over 20 years, Wanda Miller, and their twin boys. He performed the last show at his farewell tour in Nashville, Tennessee, in October 2017 with artists and collaborators including Lionel Ritchie, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Alison Krauss and others paying tribute to the artist.
