Donald Trump whines: "There aren't any in Munich"

Astrid Lund - Betty MacDonald fan club organizer: "Donald Trump has convinced me. I'm going to buy a Chevrolet now. It's always been my dream!" Hopefully, poor Donald will stop crying then! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The West Donald Trump whines: "There aren't any in Munich" Marcel Görmann • 4 hrs. • 2 mins read Donald Trump is once again attacking Germany! Allegedly, his country is being treated unfairly in international trade, which is why he's pushing for new tariffs. On Monday (April 14), the US President cited an example from the automotive world. Trump does indeed have a point, but it probably has more to do with the quality of the vehicles. Trump gripes about the EU and German car buyers Trump complained massively about the European Union to members of the press. The EU was founded "to harm the United States in the area of trade," he claimed. While Americans buy millions of European cars, the EU wouldn't take any US vehicles. They were being terribly exploited by the Europeans. Trump then complained quite specifically: "There are no Chevrolets in Munich!" But those days are now over, the head of state announced. Hardly anyone wants to drive a Chevrolet here. In fact, only about 124,000 cars of the Detroit-based Chevrolet brand are currently registered in Germany. That's 9.1 percent fewer than in 2024. But this is less because Germans fundamentally dislike the US than because of quality. VW, Mercedes, and BMW are simply much more popular here. Last year alone, however, almost 450,000 cars were exported from Germany to the US. The United States was thus the main destination for auto exports. Speaking of popularity: Surveys in the US show that Americans' dissatisfaction with their president is rapidly increasing. Since mid-March, the proportion of those opposed (currently 50.2 percent) has outnumbered those in favor (47 percent). Apparently, even US citizens are slowly becoming fed up with what's happening in the White House under Trump.
