Berlin (dts news agency) - After the end of the traffic light government, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is losing support among the population. As the "Bild" (Tuesday edition) reports, citing the politician ranking of the Insa institute, the Chancellor's popularity has fallen by three places to 19 out of 20.
Only AfD chairman Tino Chrupalla is less popular. The most popular politician remains Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD). Following Pistorius are Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), North Rhine-Westphalia's Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) and CDU leader Friedrich Merz.
If there were a federal election on Sunday, the SPD would get 15.5 percent (unchanged from the previous week), as the "Bild" further reports. The Union reached 32.5 percent (+0.5), the Greens were at 11.5 percent (+1), and the FDP was at 5 percent (+0.5). The AfD gained 1.5 percentage points and climbed to 19.5 percent.
For the survey, Insa interviewed a total of 3,009 people from November 8 to 11, 2024.
