I'm a huge fan of the author Betty MacDonald since always
Since I read "the egg and I " long long time ago
And I read it many times again, it give me great joy always,
Her sense of humor is a gift, a delivery for her readers

I discover her bio, after, I was curious of who she was and her journey in life
and I discover she writes other books a few years ago

I don't even know she wrote another books.
That was huge for me: what a great joy, great expectation : to discover another book written by Betty McDonad!

"Anybody can do anyting" : that book especially is so actual with the kind of " great depression" we are facing nowadays :
2008 crisis of subprimes in the US and all other the world ...peoples in western "educated" and rich countries facing unemployment, having difficulties for having simple medical care, for just simple basic needs, like eating for them and their families, for having a place to live in, an appartment...
Well, Betty McDonald is so alive nowadays, she is still an inspiration for me, she gives us fun, hope, a way to consider life with always a pinch of humor, a distance.
And first of all, she is a woman who is an author, a daughter, a sister, a mother, a family member.
( and her family is so important, she gives us timeless portraits in her books -
of their grand-mother in "the egg and I" for instance!
