With sales starting at midnight at the Berlin Kulturkaufhaus Dussmann, the new album "Zeit" by the Berlin metal band Rammstein hit the market on Friday. Hard-boiled fans secured the eighth album by the musicians around singer Till Lindemann before the official start of sales when the shops opened.
On Thursday evening, fans around the world had the opportunity to listen to the eleven songs from the album in their entirety in selected cinemas such as the Berlin Zoo Palast. The videos of the first singles "Zeit" and "Zick Zack" were shown as well as the video for the third release "Angst", which was to be released on Friday at 5 p.m. Graphics were projected onto the screen for the eight remaining songs.
A surprising number of songs on the album revolve around the end, farewell, old age, dwindling time. Playful synthesizer phrases sometimes have a lot of space. Again and again you can hear the pounding, often staccato guitar riffs. Some passages in "Gift", "OK" or "Angst" are very reminiscent of old Rammstein hardness. After the forced break caused by the corona, the successful stadium tour should also continue very soon on stage. The German concerts, which have been sold out for a long time, kick off on May 20th and 21st in Leipzig.
