But the couple never boarded the plane to Cape Town. The reason: Corona. "The flights were constantly being cancelled. We then decided to stay at home, to renovate our house, to take postponed doctor's appointments," says Nicole to "Bild". During one of these doctor's appointments, two malignant tumors are discovered in her right breast. "The diagnosis in December 2020 was a shock. Time stood still. My life ran in slow motion like a film inside me," says the singer in retrospect. "I just thought: I didn't!" Nicole lost her long hair, but she's fighting back Nicole had to be operated on immediately and then started chemotherapy. This was followed by 29 radiation treatments that had consequences. The singer lost her long hair. "All my life I've only had long hair and suddenly I was bald. That was hard." But Nicole fought back, had her head shaved and wore a wig from then on. "My zodiac sign is Scorpio. When faced with danger, these animals take a step back – but not out of fear, but to take a run-up to counterattack. I'm a fighter, I want to live!" Nicole thanks higher power: "Otherwise I might already be dead" That the cancer was even discovered? This is a message for Nicole. "Some higher power wanted to prevent me from boarding a plane to South Africa in December 2020 - otherwise I might be dead by now." Today she is grateful to many people for the fact that she is doing well again. "Corona, the great team of doctors and my guardian angel saved my life," says Nicole. "Also I was able to withdraw and focus on my recovery. My beloved family is my best therapy."
