Congratulations Denmark

Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen was Denmark's hero as the Republic of Ireland's 2018 World Cup qualification hopes slipped away in Tuesday night's 5-1 play-off defeat.
Martin O'Neill's side went into Tuesday's play-off second-leg off the back of a goalless draw in Denmark, and the Aviva Stadium crowd were in dreamland as Shane Duffy headed the hosts in front after six minutes following a mix-up in Kasper Schmeichel's defence.
That goal saw the Republic of Ireland heading to Russia as things stood, but Denmark immediately put the pressure on and were left just before the half-hour mark.
Pione Sisto tricked his way into the hosts' penalty area, and Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen saw his toe-poke turned home off the post by Irish defender Cyrus Christie.

While Denmark's equaliser had a hint of fortune about it, their second one was pure quality - Stephen Ward lost the ball, and Spurs midfielder Eriksen curled home a glorious effort in off the bar just three minutes later.

O'Neill's men were shell-shocked, but made it to half-time with a chance of turning things around. The Boys in Green kept fighting after the interval, but Eriksen effectively put the game to bed 20 minutes after the restart. The hosts again dallied in defence, and Sisto teed up Eriksen to curl home another impressive effort past the helpless Darren Randolph.
There was worse to come for Ireland and Ward in particular as the defender miskicked a simple clearance 16 minutes from time, and was off balance to allow Eriksen to steal in for an emphatic finish for his hat-trick.

Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner rubbed salt into the wounds as he won and scored a late penalty to make absolutely sure of Denmark's progress. The result means the Republic of Ireland's dreams are over for another four years, while Denmark will be confident of causing a shock or two in Russia next summer if Eriksen retains this kind of form.

Many ESC fans from all over the world are so very sad because we lost Joy Fleming - one of the best singers ever.
