Insa survey: Majority is in favor of stopping admissions for Islamic countries
A majority of the German population wants a change in Germany's migration policy. The opinion research institute Insa draws this conclusion from a representative survey that it conducted on behalf of the “Bild” newspaper. 61 percent of those surveyed are in favor of stopping the admission of people from Islamic countries. In addition, 72 percent of those surveyed would no longer agree with Angela Merkel's statement in 2015: “We can do it.” More than three quarters of those surveyed have the impression that a growing number of people in Germany despise German society.
The clear attitude shown by the survey documents the Germans' farewell to Angela Merkel's migration policy, said Insa managing director Hermann Binkert to "Bild". The numbers should shake up politicians: “Citizens expect a noticeable turnaround.”
