FRANK SINATRA Signed document asking his permission to use a double of him in a 1953 Ma and Pa Kettle movie - the same year he starred in his Oscar-winning role in From Here to Eternity Document signed: "Frank Sinatra", 2 pages, 8½x11. No place, October 2, 1951 . In letter form from Universal Pictures to Frank Sinatra, c/o MCA Artists, Ltd., 9370 Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, California, with Sinatra's name underlined in unknown hand in red ink. Carbon copy signed in ink. Signed for Universal Pictures Company, Inc. by Kathryn McTaggart. This is a request for Sinatra's permission to use a double of him in the movie Ma and Pa Kettle in Paris. It includes the scene, in screenplay format, that the double will be used in. Ma and Pa Kettle in Paris was released on April 20, 1953 as Ma and Pa Kettle on Vacation. Multitalented actor and singer FRANK SINATRA (1915-1998) is one of the most famous American performers of all time. He came into the music business in the late 1930s, establishing himself as a solo performer in 1943. His 1946 debut album The Voice of Frank Sinatra made it to #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. He released a handful of albums in the late 1940s, but they failed to do as well on the charts. Sinatra began performing in Las Vegas and became a leading member of the Rat Pack, whose key members included Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Humphrey Bogart (in the early years of the group). Throughout the 1940s, he starred in a few Bobby-Soxer films. However, his first big break on screen came in 1953's From Here to Eternity; his performance earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. This resurgence in popularity led to two Gold-certified music albums, In the Wee Small Hours and Songs for Swingin' Lovers!, soon after. Over the ensuing decades, Sinatra notched several more Gold albums and a few that were certified Platinum.
