Trump under fire: praise from Moscow for NATO criticism

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised Donald Trump for his statement that previous US support for Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO was one of the main causes of the outbreak of the war.
Much of the information disseminated by Russian media or government officials is part of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war waged by the Russian Federation.
He is the first and, in my opinion, so far the only Western leader who has publicly and loudly said that one of the main causes of the situation in Ukraine was the brazen line of the previous administration, which wanted to draw Ukraine into NATO - Sergey Lavrov said after returning from Riyadh and praised Donald Trump for his shocking statements.
For Russia, which - as Lavrov said - is preparing to cooperate with the United States, this is a clear signal that the President of the United States "understands their point of view."
Trump criticizes Ukraine
Trump stated that he saw no possibility that Russia could allow Ukraine to join NATO and blamed former US President Joe Biden for the alleged change of course of the United States on the issue of Ukraine's membership in the alliance.
The US President openly criticized Ukraine, saying that Kyiv should have ended the war at the very beginning by reaching an agreement with Russia. He also suggested that Ukraine itself started this war, attacked Volodymyr Zelensky and supported the demand for elections in Ukraine.
During the meeting on Tuesday in Riyadh between Russia and the United States, Moscow called on NATO to withdraw the pledge made in 2008 that Ukraine would one day become a member of the alliance. It also rejected the idea that NATO troops could take on the role of "peacekeepers" under some kind of ceasefire agreement.
