Using cowboy sayings, US Vice President J.D. Vance criticized European politicians and compared them to the Soviet Union. The German Defense Minister responded shortly afterwards with clear words.
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius criticized US Vice President J.D. Vance's speech at the Munich Security Conference with clear words. "He speaks of the annulment of democracy and, if I understood him correctly, he compares conditions in parts of Europe with those in authoritarian governments. That is unacceptable," said the SPD politician in Munich at the beginning of his speech on security policy.
Pistorius recommends that Vance turn on the television
Pistorius accused Vance of painting a distorted picture of democracy in Europe and Germany. Democracy makes it possible for "parties that are extremist in parts, such as the AfD, to campaign as normal, just like any other party." Unlike elsewhere, media outlets in Germany are also allowed to "spread Russian propaganda."
