Russia's President Vladimir Putin signaled his willingness to negotiate in the Ukraine war. Now we know under what conditions!
Russia has just terrified the government in Kiev and its Western allies with the first use of medium-range missiles in Ukraine. Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin wants the attacks to be understood as a clear warning to the West. The missile, with the type designation Oreshnik, can also be armed with nuclear weapons and can reach cities in neighboring European countries beyond Ukraine. This includes Berlin, Paris and London.
"The Russian side has clearly demonstrated its capabilities," Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told journalists in Moscow. The shelling of the Ukrainian city of Dnipro was a result of "reckless decisions" by Western countries. They supplied Ukraine with missiles and allowed them to be used against Russian territory. Russia had to react to this.
The threat from Moscow comes at the same time as the first reports about Putin's possible plans and goals in the Ukraine war. According to intelligence sources, Putin wants to present his plans for ending the Ukraine war to the USA. And not to the incumbent President Joe Biden, but to his successor Donald Trump.
For the first time, Russian President Vladimir Putin used medium-range missiles against Ukraine. He is threatening further attacks.
The Russian president's offer of negotiations envisages the dissolution of the independent Ukrainian state. More precisely, Ukraine, with its remaining population of around 37 million (millions of Ukrainians have fled abroad), is to be divided into three parts after a ceasefire or a peace agreement, as the Italian news channel Rai News also reports.
The Russian document received by the Ukrainian secret service envisages the integration of eastern Ukraine as "new regions of Russia". This refers to the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Crimea with Sevastopol, which are to officially become part of the Russian Federation.
The second area involves the formation of a pro-Russian puppet government. This involves the creation of a "state" with pro-Russian authorities in the area of the city of Kyiv and other areas such as Kharkiv and Odessa. The pro-Russian government of these entities will refuse to join Western alliances such as the EU and NATO and will agree to a Russian military presence along the lines of Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The third part concerns Western Ukraine, which is listed as "disputed territories" in Putin's plan. These are regions such as the city of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Transcarpathia, which the Kremlin wants to divide with the neighboring countries of Hungary, Poland and Romania.
Ukrainian intelligence assumes that the partition plans were developed by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The proposed breakup of Ukraine reflects the ultimate goals of the Russian invasion, which included regime change in Kyiv and “demilitarization” of the Ukrainian state.
