Bruce Springsteen has never been secretive about his dislike of Donald Trump. At the start of his European tour, the singer also spoke out clearly against the US President and his administration. Bruce Springsteen has once again clearly positioned himself against Donald Trump: "Tonight, we call on all who believe in democracy and the best in American history to stand with us, raise their voices against authoritarianism, and assert freedom," the musician said Wednesday evening at the start of his European tour in Manchester, England. This is not the first time the American singer has taken a clear stance against the President and his administration. Springsteen has been using his popularity to draw attention to social injustices for years. In recent years, his criticism has been particularly directed at Donald Trump, whom he described as "the most dangerous presidential candidate" of his lifetime before his election. In October, Springsteen openly supported Trump's opponent Kamala Harris in an Instagram post. He stated that the US is "more divided politically, spiritually, and emotionally" than it has been since the Civil War. "Born in the U.S.A." America is "currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treacherous government," Springsteen said at his concert in England. "In America, the richest men take pleasure in delivering the world's poorest children to sickness and death," the 75-year-old continued. Springsteen complained that Trump and his administration "take sadistic pleasure in the pain they inflict on loyal American workers. They are rolling back historic civil rights laws that have led to a more just and moral society. They are abandoning our allies and siding with dictators against those fighting for their freedom."
