as soon as Terry got his first pair of glasses (he is nearsighted), he immediately noticed the difference it made seeing things.
Terry is so very happy he can see and feels a bit like Superman wearing his cool glasses.

It isn't a problem at all in our time because we have very stylish glasses.
However wearing glasses was a huge problem 70 years ago.
What was the reason why?
Because the glasses looked rather ugly.
