Kiev expert: Peace talks off the table for a while

For Ukrainian political scientist Volodymyr Fessenko, the poor course of the talks in the White House also puts an end to the topic of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine for a while.
From the perspective of Kiev political scientist Volodymyr Fessenko, the breakdown of the American-Ukrainian talks in the White House is an expression of an interstate "crisis" between the USA and Ukraine. "I expected something like this for future peace talks, but it happened some time ago," wrote the expert, who is close to the president, on Facebook.
The emotionality of President Volodymyr Selenskyj and US President Donald Trump and a "provocative role" by US Vice President J.D. Vance led to the scandal. "It is very likely that the topic of peace talks is off the table for a while," said Fessenko.
Trump had sharply rebuked Zelensky in the White House the day before and called on him to seek peace. The Ukrainian was ungrateful because he had only held out for so long in the Russian war of aggression thanks to US weapons. The talks were broken off. Zelensky left the White House early without signing a planned agreement on US access to Ukrainian raw materials. Trump later wrote on his social network Truth Social that Zelensky was not ready for peace. When he was ready, he could come back.
The USA has so far been Ukraine's main supporter in the form of arms deliveries and aid during its three-year defense against a Russian invasion.
