US President Donald Trump says he is not disappointed that the AfD only came second in the federal election. "No, I'm not disappointed about anything," the Republican said in response to a question from a journalist in the White House.
"If anything, you could say that the group we would most oppose lost," Trump said - he was probably referring to the SPD. "But we also got along with them," he emphasized. "We have an excellent relationship with all groups in Germany."
Relations with Germany are very close, Trump explained. "But we have to wait and see what happens." At the moment, Germany has "a lot of things going on."
